Fundamental research is the mission of the universities, which come under the responsibility of the Communities.

Collective Research Centres

A group of sectoral collective research centres, joint in the Union of Collective Research Centres (UCRC), meeting the specific needs of the companies in terms of scientific and technological research, is jointly funded by the companies of the concerned industrial sector and public authorities (Federal State and Regions).

Scientific Parks Wallonia

The scientific parks regroup different kind of actors in the field of Research among a university. This concept offers the development of scientific / technologic collaborations with University, a Property / real estate situation centralization; Partnerships with other on-site companies; Halls for meetings to organize conferences; etc.
