Research in Business

While public research is the responsibility of the Ministry of Research and New Technology, industrial research and development is supported by the Ministry of Industry. Innovation as a whole is the joint responsibility of both Ministries. The Anvar (Innovation Agency), falling under this dual supervision, supports innovation in SMEs-SMIs.

Chambers of commerce

Chambers of Commerce and Industry, true promoters of innovation, are involved very closely on the ground in disseminating information to companies. They take part in creating and stimulating incubators, nurseries, technopoles (high-technology centres) and other structures supporting innovative business start-ups. Consultants from Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Regional Agencies for Strategic and Technological Information Agences régionales pour l’information stratégique et technologique (ARIST) help enterprises to select and set up innovative projects.
