Science Foundation Ireland’s Conference and Workshop Programme supports conferences and workshops that enable Irish research bodies to contribute to international scientific debates, and that encourage industry-informed research and foster academic-industrial collaborations to build competitive advantage for Ireland. Events should focus on topics of timely importance in the broad areas of science, mathematics and engineering.
There are five different award types within the Conference and Workshop Programme, namely Conferences, Workshops, Academic-Industrial Workshops, Events Raising Public Awareness of Science, Mathematics and Engineering, and Conference Bids.
At least one of the event’s organising committee chairs must be based in Ireland.
Funding of up to €50,000 may be requested for conferences. Funding of up to €20,000 may be requested for workshops (both academic and academic-industrial workshops). Funding of up to €6,000 may be requested for events raising public awareness of science, mathematics and engineering. Funding of up to €6,000 may be requested for conference bids.
