Due: Thursday 15th August 2013   (this is perpetual, applications due on 15th February and 15th August every year)
Organisation: Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt
WWW: www.dbu.de/english/scholarship.php

description

The Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt has established a German scholarship programme to promote promising young scientists in the field of environmental protection. Each year about 60 scholarships for postgraduates from different disciplines - mostly in chemistry, biology and engineering - are provided. Projects may include an international angle as long as they are carried out in Germany and are related to an environmental issue of Germany.

The maximum age for applicants is 28 years (exceptions, for example in cases of maternity leave, second-chance education etc. are possible). In order to be able to take part in DBU's alumni activities, foreign applicants need to have a good command of German. The scholarship amounts to €850 per month, plus €150 per month for other costs (travelling, books, research devices etc.).
