FP7 calls in Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities

The European Commission has published new Calls in the Specific Programme ‘Cooperation’, Thematic Priority 8 ‘Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities’ of the Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7).

The Work Programme comprises the following research priorities:

  • Growth, employment and competitiveness in a knowledge society — the European Case
  • Combining economic, social and environmental objectives in a European perspective
  • Paths towards sustainable development
  • Major trends in society and their implications
  • Europe in the world
  • The Citizen in the European Union
  • Socio-economic and scientific indicators
  • Foresight activities
  • Horizontal actions (Support actions)

The Topics SSH.2011.2.1-2 ‘Combating poverty in Europe: a key question of human dignity and social cohesion’ and SSH.2011.1.2-2 ‘Social Platform on innovative Social Services’ both require the participation of ‘Civil Society Organizations’ (CSO) in a specific funding scheme.

The following topics are addressed with the funding scheme ‘Specific International Cooperation Actions’ (SICA):

  • SSH.2011.4.1-2 Connections between rural areas and cities in sub-Saharan Africa
  • SSH.2011.4.1-1 Tackling poverty in a development context.

Research cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean is requested specifically in the following topics:

  • SSH.2011.4.1-1 Tackling poverty in a development context (focus on Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean)
  • SSH.2011.2.1-1 Economic, social and political conditions for satisfying the world food needs
