description

Co-financed by Marie Curie COFUND, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) offers incoming postdoctoral research fellowships in Germany for 6 to 24 months.

The programme has no thematic limitations and is open to researchers of all nationalities.

German citizens are eligible, if they have spent at least five years abroad prior to the application. Non-German candidates who have spent more than six months in Germany should contact the AvH before submitting their application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide a commitment of a suitable host institution.

Above-average qualified postdoctoral candidates can apply within four years after the reception of their PhD certificate. Eligible applicants should already have academic publications reviewed according to international standards and printed in journals and/or by publishing houses. Furthermore, the applicant must submit a certificate of his doctoral adviser and other researchers who can report on the applicant’s qualifications.

The funding covers living, mobility and travel allowances, extra charge for family members staying longer than three months as well as additional research allowances.
