Co-financed by Marie Curie COFUND the Gerda Henkel Foundation offers fellowships (outgoing and incoming) for postdocs of historical humanities and Islamic studies.
The ‘M4 Human programme’ aims at funding research visits of 24 months at a research institution chosen by the fellow. Researchers of all nationalities are eligible. However, a precondition for the application is an element of mobility. Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activity in the country of their host organisation (EU, Associated Countries, Third Countries) for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the deadline.
Within the incoming fellowship scheme, research visits in Germany are funded. Researchers who fulfill the mobility condition and who reside or carry out their main activity in the EU, an Associated Country or a Third Country are eligible.
Within the outgoing fellowship scheme, research visits in an EU Member State (excl. Germany), in an Associated Country or a Third Country are funded. Researchers of historic huma nities (History, Archaeology, Art History) and Islamic Studies are admitted.
Applicants must hold a PhD or have at least four years of comparable and proven research experience.
The funding comprises the fellow’s salary, research costs (including costs of further training) as well as travel costs and mobility allowances.
