IWC was formed in 2005 as a company representing the Joint Venture of University of Queensland, Griffith University, Monash University and the University of Western Australia. The Moreton Bay Catchment Partnership and the International RiverFoundation are also party to the Joint Venture. IWC is supported by the Queensland Government.
