summary:
  This project seeks to maximise the likelihood that opportunities for attractive and feasible research cooperation exploiting Australian capability of benefit to Europe are used effectively. It also seeks to maximise the likelihood that Australian researchers can exploit attractive and feasible cooperation opportunities with the far larger European research, development and demonstration effort.

  This will be achieved by:
  - clarifying and widely communicating information on competitive Australian research, development and demonstration capabilities in key thematic areas via a Thematic Collaboration Roadmaps work package;
  - identifying and widely communicating best practice strategies and tactics that enable Australian and European researchers to engage effectively via a Best Practice Strategies and Tactics work package;
  - liaising with Member States, other European nations, the European funded Europe Centres in Australia and other FEAST-type units in other nations in order to exchange information and experiences on maximising the effectiveness of this type of facilitation via a Liaison work package;
  - clearly and verifiably demonstrating the additionality of this research cooperation facilitation function via developing an Impact Monitoring System.

  Via these actions the project will address expected outcomes in the activities of international cooperation within FP7 by: improving the process of providing information on programs and funding designed to promote cooperation between Europe and Australia; better identifying and demonstrating mutual interest and benefit in S&T cooperation between the EU and Australia, and; sharing best practices via joint workshops and presenting the best prospects for cooperation in particular fields. In so doing, the project will extend and enhance the capability of the established activities of the Forum for European-Australian Science and Technology cooperation (FEAST).
